1.Recyclable waste

About 10% of total waste can be recycled, such as plastic bottles, soft drinks cans, paper, etc. The waste pickers come to buy recycle waste at NIDA from housekeeping staffs after it was weighted by NIDA staff. Moreover, the house keepers earn from recycle waste selling. At the end, these recycle waste in general has gone through the factory process which produce different recycle products for green business.

2.Biodegradable Waste                          Biodegradable waste is accounted for 20% of the total waste. The source of biodegradable waste is mainly from 2 canteens and from the working offices, which is disposed to trash bins provided by institution. The housekeeping staffs collect it from central area every day and transported to the responsive sections to process the bio-fertilizer. The bio-fertilizer usually is used instead of traditional fertilizer. This process reduces cost of fertilizer and chemical contamination to soil and water. Moreover, it can encourage carbon sequestration into soil.

3.General Waste

General waste is 70 percent of total waste because institution’s limited space and not have proper disposable processes. Thus, general waste will be gathered into garbage areas and collected by Bangkok Metropolitan to sort and dispose based on their appropriate processes.

4.Hazardous Waste

Hazardous waste is so little (only accounted for 0.05 percent of total waste) comparing to total monthly waste. However, institution has emphasized on how to collect and dispose. Therefore, we has arranged the waste bins, separating and carefully disposing methods according to proper principles. Then we will record statistics/ amount and send to relevant departments (Bangkok Metropolitan) - nearby hospitals having proper storage and disposal systems.
